I don't think anything Joe does is a coincidence. In many references he is using pieces of art history to further cement what is he currently up to. One of the first things I can recall him doing in office was adding a bust of Cezar Chavez within the Oval Office. Unlike the last administration Joe is trying to reach out to not only Latino Americans, but other marginalized groups as well. With the president using past images to reinforce his message it's a breathe of fresh air compared to the cliche of the American flag and bald eagle. While I am certain it is someone on his staff intentionally displaying these images I have to give kudos to them for keeping up with creativity. www.yahoo.com/news/t-just-coincidence-biden-using-080026252.html Bob RossIn Indiana at a museum there is a special Bob Ross exhibition showing various artifacts that belonged to the former celebrity. While I think it is great he is being showcased for another generation to learn about him, he is often portrayed as a campy figure in the arts. So often the discussion is centered around more "serious" artists. The question I pose is would you teach your students about Bob Ross? Why or why not?
